We have been busy with work for almost a week at the AMB exhibition in Stuttgart, and are still organizing all the technical notes, sample components, and follow-up requirements collected during the exhibition. It's really enjoyable to have face-to-face communication with many professionals who are also dedicated to producing high-quality PCD tools more reliably.

Our booth was set up around a single running demo unit, showing live processing of common PCD cutting tools that most factories machine on a daily basis. No over-the-top stage effects, just real parts, real-world application scenarios, and open conversations about what works and what still needs improvement on the shop floor.

The Real Conversations That Mattered

The best part of AMB was the unscripted technical talks at the booth. Many visitors running CNC machining shops told us they still struggle with three common pain points on their PCD tool lines:

EDM cycle times that drag down throughput for small batch orders
Grinding wheel dressing that eats into unattended running time
Subsurface damage that shortens finished tool life in metalworking applications

We didn’t try to sell anyone a “perfect no-compromise” system. Instead, we pulled out our actual process data sheets and walked through what PCD laser machining can do, and where it still makes sense to keep using your existing grinders or EDM units.

For shops that run 5,000+ PCD tools a year, we showed how pcdtoolmachining with a laser system can cut per-part cycle time by more than half. For teams that mostly make low-volume, super-high-tolerance aerospace tools, we talked through when to step up to femtosecond pcdlasermachining to keep heat-affected zones under 0.5μm.

What We Took Away From The Show

After talking to hundreds of manufacturers, one thing is clear: precisionmanufacturing teams don’t need another overhyped “revolutionary” machine. They need a reliable, well-documented process that fits into their existing workflow, reduces unplanned downtime, and delivers consistent part quality batch after batch.

That’s exactly what we came to AMB to show. We didn’t promise impossible cost savings or zero setup work. We just showed real parts, real cycle times, and real test data that any tool shop can verify for themselves.
